Favorite Bible Passage:

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

My name is Jack Mokone Magoro, previously a pastor attached to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Southern Africa (ELCSA). I was inducted as a pastor for the St Johannes Lutheran Church in Kelvin together with its sister congregation of Midrand Lutheran Church on the 26th of November 2017.

After completing my National Senior Certificate, I graduated with a Bachelor of Theology degree from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal. I recently completed my Masters program with the University of Venda. My Research topic is Reading Romans 1:17 within the local Marapyane Lutheran community: Tumelo and Tshiamiso in African biblical hermeneutics. (Tumelo being Faith and Tshiamiso being Justification).

I have also taken personal interest to study and familiarize myself with both the manifest and subtle differences contained in the Constitutions and Composition of ELSA (N-T), and felt drawn and confident that it was indeed the environment I would like to further my career in.
